|Thesps Kirk Acevedo ("Band of Brothers") and Amy Carlson ("Third Watch") have been added to the cast of NBC's upcoming Dick Wolf entry "Law & Order: Trial by Jury."|
Acevedo and Carlson will be partnered with previously announced series stars Jerry Orbach and Bebe Neuwirth; Fred Thompson is also on board the fourth "Law & Order" installment, set to launch sometime this midseason.
Acevedo joins as Dan Salazar, a detective reassigned to the District Attorney's Investigative Squad after being wounded in the line of duty. Salazar is partnered with Detective Lennie Briscoe, the character Orbach played on the original "Law & Order."
Carlson, meanwhile, will appear as Kelly Gaffney, a politically connected assistant district attorney who serves as a deputy to Neuwirth's character, Assistant D.A. Tracy Kibre.
Carlson guest starred last month in an episode of "Law & Order."
Besides "Band of Brothers," Acevedo's credits include "Oz," for which he earned a CableACE nom as Miguel Alvarez. He also appeared in the telepic "Witness to the Mob." On the feature side, Acevedo appeared in "The Thin Red Line," "Bait," "Boiler Room" and "Dinner Rush." He'll next appear in Colin Farrell feature "The New World."
Carlson, meanwhile, starred in the skein "Peacemakers," as well as "Falcone" and "Get Real." Thesp received an Emmy nom for her role in daytime sudser "Another World" and also appeared in "Guiding Light."
Wolf exec produces "Law & Order: Trial by Jury" along with Walon Green and Peter Jankowski. NBC Universal TV and Wolf Films produce.
