Linus Roache, late of "Law & Order," will return to the franchise's lone remaining entry this fall.
Roache, who played ADA Michael Cutter for three seasons on "L&O," will reprise his role as Cutter in an episode of "Law & Order: SVU." Roache will appear in the Sept. 21 season premiere, "Scorched Earth" (10 p.m./Ch. 4), where viewers will learn that he's been promoted to a bureau chief at the ADA's office, overseeing the Special Victims Unit.
Roache is slated to appear in only one episode at this point, but that could change.
"Given everything that has gone on in New York this summer, we thought our ADAs would be under fire," "SVU" executive producer Warren Leight told me via e-mail. "They need a supervisor to both protect them and ride them hard -- sometimes at the same time."
Univision's Lourdes Stephen will be in town this weekend for the Dominican Day Parade.
"I learned a lot from my time on 'Law and Order' and it's going to be interesting to experiment with Cutter's development in this new context," Roache said in a statement.
He's just completed shooting on the ABC miniseries, "Titanic," being done in conjunction with ITV. It's scheduled to air next year. |
