"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" star Vincent D'Onofrio had another fainting spell Monday, for the second time in as many weeks.
D'Onofrio was taken to a hospital for tests after passing out late Monday (Nov. 15). Work on the NBC series, in which D'Onofrio stars as eccentric Detective Robert Goren, has stopped while he recovers.
The actor also suffered a fainting spell Nov. 10, while rehearsing a strenuous scene on the "Criminal Intent" set. At the time, "Law & Order" chief Dick Wolf chalked it up to D'Onofrio's heavy workload; the actor appears in the great majority of the show's scenes.
Now, "[t]he problem is that they haven't figured out what's wrong with Vincent yet -- whether it's a serious health problem or something psychosomatic or what," a source close to the show tells New York's Daily News. "We won't be back at work until Monday [Nov. 22] at the earliest."
The source says D'Onofrio has undergone a number of tests, but doctors have yet to diagnose what's caused him to faint.
An NBC representative says D'Onofrio is "in good spirits, and producers are optimistic he'll be released soon." |
