HOLLYWOOD - Former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor Albert Insinnia has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography in New Jersey.
Insinnia, 57, was released on bail from the Passaic County Sheriff's Department in Wayne on Tuesday after turning himself over to cops the day before.
Authorities allegedly found 180 pornographic images of children on his laptop computer.
His lawyer Joseph Portelli said Insinnia pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on Tuesday.
Portelli tells the New York Daily News, "I understand what he's been charged with, but I do have to say that based on my conversations with him and the authorities involved, I sincerely believe he's not guilty.
"Any images that may have been on that computer are not his."
Insinnia played Lt. Pizelli on two episodes of Law & Order: SVU in 2004 and 2005. |
